Odd Future to support Eminem at Wembley Stadium

The first ever rap shows at the venue will take place July 11-12

Odd Future are set to support Eminem at his upcoming shows at Wembley Stadium.

The collective will open up for the rapper on July 11-12, at the first ever hip-hop shows to take place at the massive London venue. Eminem broke the news on his Instagram account, posting a video of Tyler, The Creator saying his group would be appearing at the gigs this summer.

Speaking on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show earlier this month, Eminem spoke about playing his first London show since 2001 and stated that he originally planned to appear at Hyde Park. He added that he’s not currently looking to do lengthy tours, but would rather focus on big one-off concerts. “I’m not saying I’ll never be ready for that again, but right now, this is what’s working for me,” he said.

Speaking about working with live musicians on his current stage show, he commented: “It’s definitely better. It definitely brings a whole new element to it… There’s a whole different energy. It’s louder, it’s more in your face, it’s more explosive.”

Eminem’s last UK performance came in August 2013 when he headlined the Reading & Leeds Festivals.
