Odd Future’s Lionel Boyce named as group member arrested at Boston show – video

Watch Odd Future's video of Boston date shut down by police

Odd Future‘s, Lionel Boyce, has been named as the group’s member who was arrested at their Boston show on March 21.

Boyce, who is not a musical member of the group but is set to appear in their new Adult Swim series Loiter Squad which premieres in the US tonight (March 25), was apparently arrested by Boston police after he helped restrain, group member, Jasper Dolphin, from jumping off a second-storey balcony.

Odd Future posted documentary footage, where Dolphin explains the story of Boyce’s arrest, on their YouTube page.

Speaking to the camera, Dolphin said: “The show was good and I’m making the crowd wild. I go to the second floor and I try to jump and my friend Lionel says, ‘don’t jump, you’re too drunk for this shit’. Somehow for him saving me, Boston police arrest this n***a. How the fuck can they arrest a fucking hero?”

In the video, we also see the local authorities pushing Hodgy Beats around back stage and telling him to “shut his fucking mouth and act like a man”. Earlier in the day, as police enquire about the line forming outside the group’s pop-up shop in the city, Tyler The Creator tells the camera that the police were “trying to shut them down”.

It isn’t the first time the group has upset the police in Boston. Last year, local authorities stepped in when Odd Future nearly started a riot at an autograph signing in a comic book store.

At the previous night’s gig in New York, estranged Odd Future member, Earl Sweatshirt, marked his return to the band by performing live on-stage with the group. Speaking in an interview with MTV, Earl Sweatshirt said the band’s success had been “pretty crazy”.
