Adele, Mark Ronson watch Odd Future play secret London gig

Tyler, The Creator and MellowHype perform at YoYo clubnight

Three members of Odd Future played a secret gig in London last night (April 28).

Group leader Tyler, The Creator and MellowHype – the collective name for Hodgy Beats and Left Brain – played an impromptu two-song show at the YoYo clubnight at the Notting Hill Arts Centre.

After a short DJ set from Odd Future member Syd The Kyd, the trio took to the stage at 1am (BST) to play ‘Yonkers’. The track is due to feature on Tyler‘s forthcoming solo album ‘Goblin’, which is due to be released on May 10.

The Los Angeles rap collective then played MellowHype‘s ’64’ to wrap up the brief set, which was watched by Adele, Mark Ronson and Klaxons man Jamie Reynolds.

Odd Future are due to play again in the capital today (29) at Shoreditch‘s Village Underground, before appearing at the Camden Crawl on Sunday (May 1).

A gig scheduled for tonight at London’s Relentless Garage was pulled last week, with the venue tweeting that it was “in the dark” over the reasons for the cancellation.

Speaking about the timing of today’s gig at Village Undergroundwhich coincides with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Royal WeddingTyler, The Creator has told NME he “couldn’t give a shit” about the regal couple’s nuptials.
