Odd Future’s missing rapper Earl Sweatshirt ‘found in American Samoa’

Thebe Kgositsile tracked down to 'therapeutic centre'

Odd Future‘s missing rapper Earl Sweatshirt has apparently been tracked down to a “therapeutic centre” in American Samoa.

The rapper – real name Thebe Kgositsile – has not been seen with the Los Angeles hip-hop collective for a number of months, leading to speculation among fans about his whereabouts.

Complex.com has published a picture of which it claims proves the 17-year-old has been staying at the Coral Reef Academy on the South Pacific island.

The news source explained it tracked the rapper down after following a clue in a new track by Odd Future members Domo Genesis and Hodgy Beats. The lyrics to the track state: “Ask Syd where we at. She’ll tell you where we going. To free Earl from the fucking Samoans.”.

The response to from the rest of Odd Future to the report has been mixed, with group leader Tyler The Creator stating on his Twitter account, Twitter.com/FuckTyler: “That complex shit is false”.

Bandmate Mike G appeared to be more convinced, tweeting: “Fuck, that’s really him”.

Odd Future are scheduled to play two UK gigs on April 29 – playing at London‘s Village Underground at 2.30pm (GMT) and the capital’s Relentless Garage in the evening.
