New OK Go video gets over one million hits in first 24 hours

Watch the promo for 'White Knuckles' on NME.COM

The new music video by Ok Go has been seen by over one million people in its first 24 hours, and you can see it below.

Released yesterday (September 20) on YouTube, the promo for their new single ‘White Knuckles’ has become yet another viral hit for the band, following the global success for the videos of ‘A Million Ways’, ‘WTF?’ and ‘Here It Goes Again’.

“It took 124 takes,” frontman Damian Kulash told NME about the video, which features the band and a collection of well trained dogs. “There were many more starts and stops but we actually have slates for 124 full takes. The video you see is one whole take and what you see is all take 72.”

Currently seen over 1.3 million times, the singer explained that they are shocked by the number of people who have seen the promo already.

“It’s mind-boggling,” he admitted. “I don’t think the brain is wired for comprehending those kind of numbers. Last night it was 100,000 hits and I woke up this morning with it being, like, over one million.”

As for the future, Kulash was quick to reassure fans that they haven’t run out of ideas for more videos, with the next one set to be released in November.

“We’re releasing another probably on November 1,” he revealed. “There are plenty more down the line we’re working on too. We make our videos like we make our songs, so there are plenty of threads of stuff floating around, you’re just not always sure if it’s going to turn into something yet.”

Set to embark on a North American tour in early October, the band will also be at the British Film Institute (BFI) in London this Friday (September 24), where a number of their videos will be screened and the group will take part in a special question and answer session.
