The troubled Wu Tang Clan rapper sent to men's institution...

The Wu Tang Clan‘s Ol’ Dirty Bastard was ordered to undergo psychological tests last Friday (March 24) to help determine whether the rapper will serve a prison sentence after admitting violation of his probation terms, according to US reports.

The order relates to claims that Ol’ Dirty Bastard, real name Russell Jones, became intoxicated following a New York court appearance in January of this year, in direct violation of the ‘no alcohol’ clause in his parole conditions.

ODB will spend the next 90 days at the California Institution for Men in Chino, California, where he will have his criminal record reviewed and will take part in a number of psychological tests. Following the results of the tests, officials from the centre will send a recommendation back to the judge, who has the option of sending the rapper to prison, or putting him back on probation.

ODB was originally sentenced in November last year to three years probation and a year of drug rehabilitation, after pleading no contest to charges of making death threats to an ex-girlfriend and wearing an illegal bullet proof vest.

The rapper is scheduled to return to court for his latest sentencing on June 23.
