OL’ DIRTY BASTARD SWEARS TO GET CLEAN

The rest of the Wu Tang Clan are off on tour without him...

Wu Tang Clan‘s Ol’ Dirty Bastard has been ordered to spend another 180 days in drug rehabilitation following his ‘psychological evaluation’ by the California Department of Corrections.

ODB, real name Russell Jones, admitted in court last Friday (June 23) to violation of his current probation terms by becoming intoxicated following a New York court appearance in January. He will now spend 180 days in drug rehabilitation at the Impact House in Pasadena, California.

According to reports on US website ODB[/a] was previously set free from rehab to work on a music video. She has insisted he remain in the current program until its completion, unless permission is given by the court. She added: “I think he (ODB) is very intelligent and highly manipulative. Mr Jones‘ problem is his mouth. It doesn’t mean he’s crazy … but he definitely needs psychological counselling. You do need some help, whether you realise it or not.”

Speaking in court, the rapper promised he would adhere to the terms of his rehabilitation, so on release he can work on the new Wu-Tang album. He said: “I won’t be bad this time. My group has been out here two months already. We’ve all signed a $3 million contract, and they’re waiting on me.”

ODB is due to undergo a progress report on September 21.

In other Wu-Tang news, the Clan have just announced a US tour for July and August. The tour will feature all the members of the Clan, without the incarcerated ODB.
