One Direction’s Zayn Malik quits boy band’s Asia tour

Singer is signed off with stress after pictures emerge of him with a mystery girl in Thailand

One Direction‘s Zayn Malik has quit the band’s current tour of Asia.

The singer reportedly pulled out of a shoot in Hong Kong today (March 19) so he could fly back to the UK to be with his family.

A spokesperson for the band told the Mirror: “Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta.”

It comes after he took to Twitter to blast pictures which emerged of him with a mystery girl in Thailand yesterday (March 18). Malik is currently dating Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards. He wrote:

Despite missing the band’s last three shows in Manila and Jarkarta, Malik is reportedly expected to return for the first of two shows in South Africa on March 28.

Earlier today, it emerged Malik and Tomlinson had also been ordered to pay a $5,000 dollar (£3,300) drug bond ahead the band’s shows this weekend.

They would lose the bond if they were caught using or promoting the use of illegal drugs during their visit to the country, according to the Philippines Bureau of Immigration.
