Zayn Malik to make first solo TV interview appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’

Mailk will appear alongside Will Smith and Ryan Reynolds on January 29 episode

Zayn Malik will make his first TV appearance since leaving One Direction on The Graham Norton Show at the end of January.

Malik is not scheduled to perform on the show, with Laura Mvula handling the music on the January 29 episode, but will join fellow guests Will Smith and Ryan Reynolds plus Dad’s Army stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Toby Jones on Norton’s sofa.

The episode will air on January 29 at 10.35pm on BBC One.

Malik quit One Direction, who are currently on an extended hiatus, in March 2015 and is now embarking on a solo career. Since his departure he has hinted at tension between himself and other members of the band, saying only Liam Payne has kept in touch with him.

Malik previously described the boy band’s music as “generic as fuck” and claimed he would be embarrassed to play their music around girls.

Following his One Direction exit, Malik signed a solo deal with RCA and has been offered guidance by 50 Cent and collaborations with Odd Future man Tyler, The Creator.
