Harry Styles ‘taking singing lessons’ ahead of post-One Direction solo career

Tabloid reports claim the star wants to 'develop his vocal skills'

One Direction star Harry Styles is reportedly taking singing lessons ahead of a potential solo career.

Tabloid reports claim that the star wants to “develop his vocal skills” to “achieve the success he wants as a solo artist”.

It follows recent news that Styles has already written four new songs for a potential solo album.

Styles recently registered the tracks, called ‘Already Home’, ‘Coco’, ‘Endlessly’ and ‘5378 Miles’, with the performing rights organisation ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Snow Patrol guitarist John McDaid is credited with co-writing the songs.

Now a source has said: “People may find it funny Harry needs singing lessons ahead of a solo career but it’s pretty standard practice.

“He’s performed well live and can obviously sing but he’s smart enough to realise he needs to learn more about how best to develop his vocal skills. He’s grounded and professional enough to know he needs to work hard to achieve the success he wants as a solo artist.”

Meanwhile, Jay Z has said that he can make Harry Styles “the biggest artist in the world within a year”.

One Direction have been on an indefinite hiatus since their farewell performance on The X Factor on December 13.
