One Direction’s Liam ‘thanks everyone for their good wishes’ as group reschedule axed gig

Band pulled out of Belfast show on Tuesday at late notice

One Direction member Liam Payne has thanked fans for their support after his band were forced to cancel their show at Belfast’s SSE Arena at last minute on Tuesday night as the singer was taken “suddenly ill.”

A spokesperson from the venue appeared on stage minutes before the band were due on stage at 8.30pm, telling fans the concert had been cancelled and asked them to exit the building slowly.

With his bandmates taking to social media to ease concerns, an official statement from the band states: “Tonight and tomorrow night’s One Direction concerts in Belfast will be going ahead as planned. Liam thanks everyone for their good wishes. Once again we apologise for the cancellation of last night’s One Direction show.”

Last night’s cancelled Belfast gig will now take place at the same venue on Friday (October 23). Original tickets will apply.

Meanwhile, One Direction have also unveiled a video for their new single ‘Perfect’. The video sees the pop group hanging out in a New York hotel, where they have tea, play football and get a tattoo. Watch the video here.

‘Perfect’ was unveiled last week to accusations that it sounds like Taylor Swift’s song ‘Style’. Listen to both songs here.
