OutKast play their British live debut at secret London gig

OUTKAST, the ATLANTA-based hip hop sensations, made their British live debut last night at an industry-only secret gig at the SCALA in LONDON’s KING’S CROSS.

Taking the stage at just gone 10pm, Andre 3000 and Big Boi stormed through a set mostly taken from their multi-million-selling ‘Stankonia’ album. Despite the rather cool nature of the audience and the dreadful sound in the venue, Andre – clad in purple and sporting a wicked peaked afro – whipped the front rows into a frenzy while Big Boi – more conservatively dressed in sports gear – made several stabs at a crap cockney accent. Songs included ‘So Fresh, So Clean’, ‘Gasoline Dreams’ , ‘B.O.B.’ and ‘Rosa Parks’ and ‘SpottieOttieDopaliscious’ from their previous album, ‘Aquemini’.

OutKast play support to Eminem on his forthcoming UK tour, and headline their own NME Carling Awards Show at the London Astoria on February 11.
