OutKast duo Big Boi and Andre 3000 have made a rare public appearance together for the first time since rumours the pair will reunite in 2014 emerged.
Big Boi posted the new picture seen above to Tumblr and Instagram earlier today (December 2). It shows the two rappers outside Stewart Avenue in Atlanta. Big Boi is wearing a silver and black jacket with the word OutKast printed on it. When posting the picture online, Big Boi included the hashtag #unfuckwittable.
Though there is still no official confirmation that the pair are recording together again, the picture adds further fuel to the rumours that OutKast will reform for a series of live dates next summer, including a performance at US festival Coachella.
OutKast went on hiatus in 2007 and have not performed together since 2004, each enjoying solo success in the subsequent years. Next year (2014) will be the anniversary of the pair’s 1994 debut album ‘Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik’
Big Boi teased the possibility of an OutKast reunion earlier this year while speaking to Power 106. During the radio interview, he said: “We’ve been kind of discussing some things. Once we map it out, we’ll make an announcement. But we’ll see. It’s 20 years, man…I wanna see it too, I definitely wanna see it too. Mum’s the word right now, but we gon’ see.”
Meanwhile, a representative for Big Boi’s fellow OutKast star Andre 3000 previously denied rumours that he will release his long-awaited debut solo album in 2014.
