Ozomatli to perform in India and Nepal

The LA band will serve as US cultural ambassadors

Los Angeles 10-piece Ozomatli will perform in India and Nepal later this month, representing the United States as cultural ambassadors.

The Grammy-winning band received a prestigious Fulbright-Hays grant from the US State Department to fund their trip.

While overseas, they will help celebrate Nepal’s newly ratified peace accord by performing free public concerts and offering musical workshops and master classes.

The programmes in both countries will focus on music education and have been designed to appeal to Indian and Nepali youth and advance mutual understanding between the United States and the Asian countries.

The band’s trip will include visits to orphanages and juvenile aid centres, as well as performing arts schools including the Ravi Shankar Institute for Music and Performing Arts in New Delhi.

As previously announced, Ozomatli will release their fourth full-length studio album, ‘Don’t Mess With The Dragon’, on April 3 in the US via Concord Records.
