Sharon Osbourne responds to Ozzy split reports

'The Talk' star spoke about recent rumours in Tuesday's episode

Sharon Osbourne has confirmed reports that she has split from husband Ozzy Osbourne after more than 33 years of marriage.

The former X Factor judge and current star of chat show The Talk in the US wed Black Sabbath frontman in 1982, having three children together. Their family life later became the focus of MTV reality show The Osbournes, which aired between 2002 and 2005.

Tabloid reports over the weekend claimed that the pair had “mutually agreed” to split, with Ozzy moving out of their family home. It was suggested that the singer had an affair with a celebrity hair stylist.

Sharon Osbourne confirmed reports that she had kicked him out on Tuesday’s (May 10) episode of The Talk, saying: “[Ozzy and I] are talking, I spoke to him last night. I’m not with him, but I speak with him.”

She added: “He’s given me an unbelievable life and he’s given me three gorgeous children and I love him. I’m just trying to take it all in, take it all in and process it… I’ve been avoiding looking at any pictures or reading anything. I know what’s gone on, and I don’t need to read about it, it’s like putting salt in a wound and I don’t need to.”

Asked whether the separation was permanent, Sharon said: “I honestly don’t know. At this point I cannot answer that, because I don’t know what I want. I’ve got to follow my heart, and I don’t even know what my heart is telling me right now. I’m just trying to take it all in, process it and do it calmly and in a timely fashion.”

In 2013, the couple temporarily split after the singer relapsed into drug and alcohol abuse after years of being sober.

Ozzy has since denied that a lapse in sobriety was the reason for this latest split. He told E! News: “I have been sober for three and a quarter years. I have not touched drugs or alcohol in that time. Any reports that I am not sober are completely inaccurate.”
