Ozzy Osbourne has secured a $3 million publishing deal off the back of the hit MTV series ‘THE OSBOURNES’.
The fly-on-the-wall show, which hits UK screens on May 19, has become one of the most popular series in the history of the music network, attracting millions of viewers in the US.
The Reuters news network reports that the rocker has signed a deal worth more than $3 million with Simon & Schuster imprint Pocket Books for two different projects. The first is a tie-in to the show, the second a hardback memoir based on the family’s lives.
Simon & Schuster group president Carolyn Reidy, who has been working on the project, said: “The Osbournes are a popular phenomenon of the first magnitude. Their appeal is multigenerational and covers the entire political and cultural spectrum. We’re bleeping delighted to publish them at Simon & Schuster.”
Negotiations are currently underway for a second series of ‘The Osbournes’. It is rumoured a deal for two more series could reach $20 million.
