Other guests announced to take part include Ricky Martin, Beach Boys founder member Brian Wilson, Tom Jones, Will Young and Aretha Franklin. The event’s creative consultant is Sir George Martin, the legendary The Beatles producer.
The concert will be broadcast on BBC nationwide and around London on specially erected giant screens.
A classical music concert will also take place two days before on June 1. Dame Kiri De Te Kanawa will star.
