Sean Combs sued for nightclub assault

Rapper and label mogul involved in another violent incident

P Diddyis being sued by a man who claims he was punched by the rapper during an argument outside a Hollywood nightclub.

Gerard Rechnitzer, 27 is alleging that the rapper attacked him.

He told Reuters that the star said: “I’ll smack flames out your ass!”, and punched him in the right side of the face, sending him flying backwards into a vehicle. P Diddy – real name Sean Combs – had previously been speaking to Rechnitzer‘s girlfriend.

However Benjamin Brafman, lawyer for Combs, has said the suit is “completely baseless”.

“It is just another example of an opportunist seeking to fabricate a lawsuit based on a flat-out lie to try to take advantage of Mr. Combs‘ celebrity status,” he said. “Mr Combs did not hit anyone, and Mr Rechnitzer suffered no injuries or damages whatsoever. There is no case. It is that simple.”

In 2001, Combs was acquitted following a 1999 nightclub shooting which injured three people. His co-defendant Jamal Barrow was sentenced to ten years on prison.

Combs has undergone a number of name-changes including Puff Daddy, P Diddy and most recently, Diddy.

Last year he agreed to release albums in the UK under the moniker P Diddy, after settling out of court with English music producer Richard ‘Diddy’ Dearlove. He will however, release his US albums under the name Diddy.
