Singer Phil Anselmo cannot perform his usual tasks as he has two broken ribs...

Pantera have been forced to cancel their forthcoming American tour, because singer PHIL ANSELMO has broken two ribs.

The tour had been scheduled to start on November 7 in Missouri, but will now be rescheduled, looking likely to take place in February 2001.

In a statement posted on the metal band’s official site [url=], drummer Vinnie Paul said: “We all just spoke to Phillip, he feels terrible and it’s just humanly impossible to sing with two broken ribs.”

He continued: “All four of us just want him to heal quick so we can get the hell on the road. We know that all our fans will be very disappointed, as are all four of us. It was an accident and it couldn’t be helped. We have every intention of hitting all the cities that we were going to play on this tour. We look forward to seeing you in the new year.”

It is not yet clear how Anselmo‘s injuries came about.
