Former Lostprophets and Nine Inch Nails drummer Ilan Rubin to play on new Paramore album

Angels And Airwaves sticksman will contribute drums to the band's fourth studio LP

Paramore have announced that former Lostprophets and Nine Inch Nails drummer Ilan Rubin will play on their new album.

Rubin, who joined Angels And Airwaves earlier this year and has also released two solo albums under the moniker of The New Regime, will contribute drum parts to the band’s as yet untitled fourth record.

The band confirmed the news today (June 29), tweeting: “Ladies and Gentlemen, our drummer for the 4th album is Mr. Ilan Rubin.”

The band’s decision to offer the role to Rubin is likely to have come about through their new producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who played alongside the drummer in Nine Inch Nails.

Paramore will return to the UK to play Reading and Leeds Festivals in August and will also play two gigs in Belfast and Edinburgh in the days before. The pop punkers will headline the Belsonic 2012 event in Custom House Square in Belfast on August 19 and play Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange Centre on August 21.

The shows in Edinburgh and Belfast will be the band’s first UK show since the departure of founding members Josh and Zac Farro, and could see the Nashville band previewing material from their as yet untitled fourth album.
