Parquet Courts’ new album is produced by Danger Mouse

Though still no official announcement for the album...

New York post-punk band Parquet Courts have revealed that their sixth album will be produced by U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Black Keys producer Danger Mouse.

As Spin report, the band’s fifth album ‘Human Performance’ was produced, recorded, mixed and designed by members of the band. However, for the currently untitled sixth record, the band have enlisted super-producer Danger Mouse.

Speaking in an interview with Q, a spokesperson for the band revealed that Danger Mouse (real name Brian Burton) has been working on the release. It was reported earlier that fans have started to receive mysterious postcards with art from singer-songwriter Adam Savage and a URL wideawake.am.

The website shows a countdown clock that will end on 10am on Thursday, 22 February. This is most likely when the official album announcement will be arriving.

Meanwhile, Danger Mouse’s schedule has been otherwise occupied with the upcoming Gnarls Barkley album, as confirmed by Cee-Lo Green.

The duo, who came to prominence in 2006 with their debut LP ‘St. Elsewhere’ and its lead single ‘Crazy’, haven’t released a full-length record since their sophomore album ‘The Odd Couple’ back in March 2008.

Speaking to DJBooth, Cee-Lo gave an update on the progress of the new record, confirming that he and his producer are nearly 50% of the way through the process.
