Paul McCartney nearly doubles his earnings to make £29 million in 2011

Paul McCartney almost doubled his earnings this year to make £29 million, according to reports

The Sun claims that the Beatles legend raked in nearly twice as much cash compared to last year, when he made £16.4 million, and also saw his pre-tax profit increase from £9 million in 2010 to £12.8 million in 2011.

Company reports also showed that McCartney had only paid himself £1 million this year, as opposed to the £6.7 million salary he received in 2010.

A source close to the singer said:

Macca must have picked up a few lucky coins in the past couple of years. Not only has he got married to a lovely lady, he’s also had a hugely successful world tour and brought out another album.

Paul McCartney wed Nancy Shevell in October of this year, while this month he played three UK dates as part of a world tour. It was reported that he made a clumsy exit at his homecoming show at Liverpool Echo Arena earlier this week when he fell off the stage (December 20).

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Paul McCartney will release a new album in 2012. The as-yet-untitled LP will feature covers of some of his favourite songs as well as two new compositions, and will be released on February 6 next year.
