Paul McCartney is set to perform at this year’s ROCK IN RIO in Portugal, joining a bill which also boasts Guns N’ Roses, METALLICA and BRITNEY SPEARS.

The former Beatle will play on the World Stage (May 28) during the six day festival, which takes place between May 28-30 and June 4-6 at the Bela Vista Park.

The gig is part of [/a]’s ’04 Summer Tour’, which is due to see the singer play to nearly 700,000 people.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the superstar has also announced that he will be headlining the Pyramid Stage at this year’s Glastonbury festival on June 26.

In a message on his official website, [a] said: “Touring really has been a lot of fun for us and the audiences have been great. So why stop now? I’m looking forward to playing to and visiting some new places.”

The Glastonbury appearance will be the last in a series of 13 dates for the star.
