The ex-Beatle can still pull the crowds - as he proves when he arrives to sign copies of his new book...

More than 2,000 people queued for up to 24 hours to meet SIR PAUL McCARTNEY when he turned up to sign copies of his new book at a WATERSTONES bookshop in LONDON yesterday (December 13).

The former Beatle was signing copies of his book ‘Paintings’ at the Piccadilly branch of the store. Fans had travelled from as far afield as Poland and Italy.

McCartney said that, aside from pursuing his hobby in painting, he is working on new material: “I’m writing songs at the moment. I’m having a great time back in the studio.”
