Paul Simon, Grizzly Bear members for New York benefit

They’ll play 'Revenge Of The Bookeaters' next month

Paul Simon and Department Of Eagles are set to perform at a fundraiser in New York City next month in order to raise money for 826NYC.

Department Of Eagles, featuring members of Grizzly Bear, will debut new material at the event entitled Revenge Of The Bookeaters, taking place at Town Hall on October 7.

The annual event will feature music, comedy, and storytelling including a story from Ira Glass, a talk by Dave Eggers, a new play by Jonathan Franzen read by Eric Bogosian, Patricia Clarkson and Franzen himself, and will be hosted by The Daily Show’s John Oliver.

The event is named after a story by an 826NYC student and is in its third year. 826NYC is a non-profit organisation which supports students aged 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, as well as helping teachers to inspire students to write.
