Thumb injury scuppers the Modfather's short tour...

PAUL WELLER has been forced to postpone a small solo tour of IRELAND due to a broken thumb.

Weller spent the first part of February on a solo tour of Europe, and has already played shows in Belgium, Holland and France. However, a statement on the official Paul Weller website, [url=], claims he had an “accident” over the weekend, and will not have recovered in time for the Irish dates. They were due to start in Belfast on February 15 and end in Dublin on February 21.

A UK spokesperson for Weller told NME.COM that negotiations to reschedule the dates are currently taking place. The affected shows are at:

Belfast Limelight Club (February 15-16)

Limerick University Concert Hall (18)

Dublin Olympia (19-21)

Following the Irish shows, Weller was due to head into Germany for a series of dates, starting in Karlsruhe on February 28, and ending in Munich on March 8. These shows are currently scheduled to go ahead as planned.
