Peace and Paloma Faith will perform at a charity fundraiser gig in aid of the Help Refugees charity.
Both acts will perform live at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on November 22 as the charity seeks to raise £80,000 for urgent human rights needs. A surprise guest headliner will be announced on the day of the gig.
Paloma Faith said, “I’m devastated to see what these people are going through, it could just as easily happen to anyone of us. So I’m glad to do what little I can. We all should.”
Help Refugees began earlier this year when Radio X presenter Lliana Bird, writer and TV presenter Dawn O’Porter, activist and comedian Heydon Prowse (BBC3’s The Revolution Will Not Be Televised) and friend Josie Naughton began raising funds to help Syrian refugees stranded in Calais.
Commenting on the gig, organiser Lliana Bird said: “When we put out a call for help in August, we never dreamed that we would get this far with our efforts and see this much love and support towards the refugee crisis. To have Paloma Faith and Peace, plus some special guests to be announced, all coming together to help raise even further funds really is a dream come true.”
