Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder has surprised fans by dancing on stage in a Donald Trump mask.
The frontman briefly donned the mask during the band’s gig in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Friday night (April 8), putting it on during the instrumental break in the track ‘Do The Evolution’. Check out a picture and watch fan footage below.
As Alternative Nation reports, Vedder did something similar during the band’s 2003 tour, when he appeared on stage wearing a George Bush mask.
Last month (March) Vedder’s band announced plans to provide earplugs at future Pearl Jam gigs in an effort to protect the hearing of their audience. “Don’t be careless and lazy at loud rock shows or cranking tunes through an old Walkman like I was thirty years ago, (but boy did it all sound good),” the band’s bassist Jeff Ament said in a statement.
Earlier this year, Pearl Jam pledged a donation of $125,000 (£87,600) to a relief fund for citizens of Flint, Michigan, in response to what has become known as the Flint Water Crisis.
The city’s drinking water supply was found to have contained lead since it switched its water supply from Detroit’s water system to its own Flint River supply in 2014, as an austerity measure. Residents complained of vomiting fits, rashes and hair loss as a result of the foul-smelling water.
