The French duo rounded off proceedings at the festival, set in the heart of Chicago, with their stunning light show mirroring the skyscrapers of the Windy City’s distinctive skyline.
As they blasted their dance-punk over the thousands of revelers, across the park Ben Harper introduced his “special friend” Eddie Vedder to the stage for a sit-down performance. The pair are no-strangers to guest appearances together, as Vedder performed a number of years back with Harper at a radio session in Australia, as well as number of other occasions.
After a day that included performances by MIA, The Fratellis, The Polyphonic Spree, The Rapture and LCD Soundsystem the crowd disseminated to make their way to the tens of post-show parties that are happening around Chicago tonight.
The Polyphonic Spreewill perform at the first of three Blender parties while over at the Metro, Cold War Kids and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are playing a show. Meanwhile, The Rapture are DJing at a party across town at which Daft Punk are rumoured to be playing a secret show.
