Lollapalooza: Day One is done

Eddie Vedder makes a surprise appearance

Lollapalooza day one today came to a close with an incredible performance by Daft Punk and a surprise appearance by Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder at Grant Park.

The French duo rounded off proceedings at the festival, set in the heart of Chicago, with their stunning light show mirroring the skyscrapers of the Windy City’s distinctive skyline.

As they blasted their dance-punk over the thousands of revelers, across the park Ben Harper introduced his “special friend” Eddie Vedder to the stage for a sit-down performance. The pair are no-strangers to guest appearances together, as Vedder performed a number of years back with Harper at a radio session in Australia, as well as number of other occasions.
