Pearl Jam have announced two huge UK dates for 2014.
The grunge rockers will play Leeds Arena and Milton Keynes Bowl on July 8 and 11 respectively as part of a wider 11-date European tour. The dates will come after the band headline Poland’s Open’er Festival on July 3 and Rock Werchter Festival in Belgium on July 5.
Last month (December 30) on the US leg of the band’s tour, frontman Eddie Vedder shaved off a fan’s dreadlocks after taking a song request during the gig.
Pearl Jam band were performing in Spokane, Washington, when Vedder spotted a fan holding up a sign offering to undergo the makeover if Peal Jam played ‘Brain Of J’, from their album ‘Yield’, during the gig. The fan was brought on stage and the song was duly played, fulfilling his request to headbang one last time before losing his hair.
Pearl Jam released their much-anticipated tenth studio album ‘Lightning Bolt’ in October. It is their first studio album in four years, and their 10th to date. It debuted at Number Two in the UK Official Album Charts.
Pearl Jam will play:
Leeds Arena (July 8)
Milton Keynes Bowl (11)
