Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder has said he imagines Kurt Cobain would think he “turned out OK” if he were still alive today, despite the Nirvana frontman lambasting the band throughout their career.
Cobain famously slated Pearl Jam for “Pioneering a corporate, alternative and cock-rock fusion”, though the two frontmen did reconcile privately before Cobain‘s death in 1994.
Speaking to The Sun, Vedder said that although he and Cobain didn’t see eye-to-eye, he hoped the iconic frontman would have still been his friend.
“If Kurt were around today, I know he’d say to me, ‘Well, you turned out OK,'” he said.
Vedder also revealed that Pearl Jam‘s rehearsal space is a shrine to rock and roll, containing Johnny Ramone‘s baseball card and photo collection, alongside personal snaps of Kings Of Leon playing the game dressed in full regalia.
