Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has been confirmed to perform at a movie premiere in Toronto next month.
The singer will make an appearance at the debut screening of ‘Body Of War’, a documentary about soldier Tomas Young who was paralysed after just one week of service in Iraq.
Vedder wrote two original songs for the movie, including ‘Long Nights’ and ‘No More’, the latter of which Pearl Jam performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago earlier this month. Young appeared onstage with the band during the performance.
As previously reported, Vedder’s anti-George Bush comments were removed from the official webcast of Pearl Jam’s performance at the festival, something that sponsor AT&T cited as a “mistake”. However, it was subsequently reported that previous performances were censored by the company, including comments made by Tom Morrello at Bonnaroo.
Meanwhile, Vedder also contributed original material to a movie entitled ‘Into The Wild’ which will also be screened in Toronto next month.
The premiere of ‘Body Of War’ will take place on September 11 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
