Pet Shop Boys announce 2013 UK tour dates – ticket details

The duo will play London and Manchester in June of next year

Pet Shop Boys have revealed their first UK tour dates for 2013.

The duo will head out on the Electric tour next year, playing London’s O2 Arena on June 18, 2013 and Manchester Arena on June 20.

Tickets for both shows go on general sale on December 8. European and North American dates will be announced shortly.

Pet Shop Boys are working with creative director Es Devlin [Take That, Lady Gaga, Kanye West & Jay Z] on the tour and also with choreographer Lynne Page, who both worked with the band on their Pandemonium tour.

Pet Shop Boys release the single ‘Memory of the Future’, remixed by Stuart Price, on December 31.

The duo released their 11th studio album, ‘Elysium’, in September. The album was recorded in LA with producer Andrew Dawson, who has worked regularly with Kanye West.

Discussing the decision to “go west” to record an album for the first time, the duo explained: “We wanted to make this album in a different environment. Despite frequent visits there we have never made an album in Los Angeles. Working there with Andrew Dawson has enabled us to make a very fresh-sounding album.”
