Pete Doherty discusses new 2011 Libertines gigs

Frontman blogs about his future plans

Pete Doherty has suggested The Libertines are considering offers to play live again.

Writing on his blog at, Doherty described a phone call from his manager late last year, in which he was told there have been “some offers for Libertines gigs” in 2011.

He did not clarify whether the band had agreed to more shows together, or what contact he has had with bandmates Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell since their shows together at the Reading And Leeds Festivals last August.

He is concentrating on solo shows in early 2011, with a newly announced solo tour set to take place this May, and also working in France and Germany on his first film role.

Doherty is starring alongside Charlotte Gainsbourg in Confession d’un Enfant du Siecle, a film about the life of 19th-century poet and dramatist Alfred de Musset.
