“Peter’s flying solo for 4 intimate gigs later this month,” a post on the musician’s official Twitter reads. “Tickets just went on sale, get one while you can.”

The tweet goes on to promise that there’s “more news & dates to follow”.

The tour will kick off January 27 at Liverpool’s Hanger 34 venue before Doherty visits Glasgow, Carlisle, and Newcastle. You can find tickets and more information here.

Doherty released his last solo album, ‘Hamburg Demonstrations’, back in 2016. In a four-star review, NME said that the record “sounds like a long-overdue coming-of-age”, adding: “It’s never been easy being a fan of Doherty, but it’s certainly getting more rewarding.”

Away from Doherty’s solo career, last summer saw Carl Barât give an update on The Libertines’ new album. He teased that he had “lots of ideas” for the upcoming ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth‘ follow-up.

In other news, Pete Doherty recently donated a selection of his artwork to an exhibition and auction which aimed to rehabilitate prisoners. His pieces were displayed in a pop-up gallery in Margate for the Stretch charity’s ‘Outsider Art Festival’.

Elsewhere, Doherty made headlines earlier this year after consuming a massive breakfast at a cafe in the Kent seaside town.
