RAE & CHRISTIAN have announced final details of their second album ‘SLEEPWALKING’, which is released on February 29 2001 and as previously reported on NME.COM, features collaborations with BOBBY WOMACK, cult reggae band THE CONGOS and New York hip-hop crew THE PHARCYDE.
‘Sleepwalking’ is preceded by a new single ‘Get A Life/Wake Up Everybody’ on January 29 via Grand Central.
Like their debut album ‘Northern Sulphuric Soul’, ‘Sleepwalking’ is characterised by high-profile collaborations, including two tracks with legendary soul singer Bobby Womack. ‘Wake Up Everybody’ is a cover of the Harold Melvin and The Bluenotes standard, while ‘Get A Life’, was previewed in acoustic form on a limited edition 7″ single released on Grand Central in October this year.
The pair have also collaborated with three female singers on the album. Siron is a mainstay of the Rae & Christian live show, while Kate Rogers featured on Aim’s album ‘Cold Water Music’. Tania Maria, however, originally appeared on the track ‘Vai Viver A Vida’ as a sample, before the pair tracked her down in Paris to sing live to the track.
