Gwen Stefani confirms work with Pharrell Williams on new No Doubt and solo records

The pair last collaborated on 2004 single 'Hollaback Girl'

Gwen Stefani has confirmed that she is working on both a new solo record and a new No Doubt album and that Pharrell Williams is involved in the process.

Stefani’s last solo release was 2006 LP ‘The Sweet Escape’, while her band No Doubt put out ‘Push And Shove’ in 2012. “Right now, I’m all about doing music,” she said, speaking at a New York Fashion Week event. “I’m going into the studio tonight with Pharrell.”

As Stereogum reports, Pharrell also commented briefly on the collaboration, stating, “What I can tell you is Gwen is on something else right now”.

The pair worked together previously on 2004 single ‘Hollaback Girl’.

Pharrell recently hinted that a new N*E*R*D album is in the works during his recent iTunes festival performance in London.

Bringing bandmate Shay Haley out to perform ‘Rockstar’, ‘Lapdance’ and ‘She Wants To Move’ from the group’s back catalogue, Haley then said, “You’re gonna like this new shit we’re gonna release”.

N*E*R*D’s last album ‘Nothing’ was released in 2010.
