Legendary record producer Phil Spector has been charged with first-degree murder after a woman was found shot dead inside his mansion in Los Angeles. Investigators would not comment on her possible relationship with Phil Spector.
The 62-year-old producer is expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged with murder. His defence lawyer is Robert Shapiro – famous for his defence of OJ Simpson.
Police have revealed that a firearm was found in the mansion and that no one else is being sought in connection with the killing.
Phil Spector is famous for exploiting multi-tracking recording techniques to produce what he dubbed the “Wall Of Sound” on records for the Beatles (Let It Be), the Ronettes, and the Ramones (‘End of the Century’). Fans of his work include Brian Wilson and John Lennon.
The famous recluse was recently lured out of retirement by Starsailor to work as producer on their forthcoming second album. He was also hoping to working on the second Vines album.
