Phish frontman arrested in New York

Trey Anastasio charged with DUI

Former Phish frontman Trey Anastasio was pulled over by police while driving in upstate New York this weekend.

According to police, he was driving erratically near the Vermont border when they pulled him over at approximately 3:30am on Friday (December 15).

A search of his car revealed several painkillers and anti-anxiety drugs that were not prescribed to him, police said.

Police charged Anastasio, who was driving with a suspended New York license, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated-drugs.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The 42-year-old guitarist has been performing solo and with other bands since Phish split up in 2004.
