Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour to release new solo album ‘Rattle That Lock’ in September

First single to be premiered on Friday (July 17)

Pink Floyd musician David Gilmour has detailed his new solo album.

‘Rattle That Lock’ will be released on September 18. It’s the follow-up to 2006’s ‘On An Island’.

The album’s first single and title-track will premiere on Chris Evans’ BBC Radio 2 show on Friday (July 17).

David Gilmour has also announced his first North American live dates in 10 years for March and April 2016. The musician plays three consecutive nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall on September 23, 24 and 25.

Gilmour has not toured since 2006, although he did recently join Bombay Bicycle onstage during their gig at London’s Earls Court Arena in December, where he played lap steel guitar on the London’s band’s own song ‘Rinse Me Down’, as well as an acoustic version of Pink Floyd’s ‘Wish You Were Here’ from the 1975 album of the same name.

Gilmour topped the album charts last year with the release of Pink Floyd’s final album ‘The Endless River’, which was the band’s first release in 20 years.
