Charlie Gilmour was arrested in Sussex yesterday (Dec 12)

Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour‘s son Charlie Gilmour has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and attempted criminal damage.

He had been accused of causing damage to the Union flag on the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London during Thursday’s (December 9) student protests in the UK capital. He was also photographed attempting to light a fire outside the Supreme Court.

The 21 year-old Cambridge University student was arrested at his home in Sussex yesterday (December 12) and was released on bail this afternoon, reports Sky News.

Gilmour has already issued a public apology for his actions. He has been released while police continue their search for others connected with disorder at the tuition fees protest.
