The star plays a couple of outdoor shows in the summer...

PJ HARVEY is to play two special open-air concerts this summer at LONDON’s SOMERSET HOUSE.

The singer will kick off a week of gigs at the venue on July 13 as well as treating fans to a second performance the following night (14).

Dance duo Lemon Jelly will play on the Thursday (July 15), Latin songstress Bebel Gilberto on the Friday (16), while Belle And Sebastian will take to the stage over the weekend (17-18).

The week of concerts will be rounded out by the Afro Cuban All Stars And Orchestra Boabab on July 19.

Last year’s Somerset House season saw performances from Yo La Tengo, [/a] and [a].

PJ Harvey will release the first single to be taken from her forthcoming album ‘Uh Huh Her’ next month.

‘The Letter’ is out on May 17 and will be released on two CDs and 7″ vinyl.

CD1 will feature ‘The Falling’ on the B-side, while CD2 will include ‘The Phone Song’ and ‘Bows And Arrows’.

The vinyl will have ‘Bows And Arrows’ as the flipside.

Harvey will release ‘Uh Huh Her’ on May 31, following 2000’s Mercury Music Prize-winning ‘Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea’.

She is also to make a series of European festival appearances this summer, including Main Stage slots at Glastonbury and T In The Park.
