U2, PJ Harvey and Roots Manuva have all been nominated for gongs at this year’s ‘SOUTH BANK SHOW’ awards.

They are joined on the shortlist for the awards, due to take place at London’s Savoy on February 2, by Chris Morris’ controversial ‘Brass Eye’ show and Ricky Gervais’ television hit ‘The Office’. Keeping in tune with the programme’s everyman arts agenda, other nominations include awards for literature, theatre, cinema and classical music. Presenters on the night include Elvis Costello, Sir Norman Wisdom and former ‘Eastenders’ actress Michelle Collins.

The ceremony will be broadcast during the South Bank Show’s usual Sunday slot on ITV on February 10 at 11.15pm.
