PJ Harvey‘s new single ‘The Wind’ is released on January 11, the second track taken from ‘Is This Desire?’.
The single is backed with new tracks ‘Nina In Ecstasy 2’, ‘The Faster I Breathe The Further I Go’, ‘Instrumental #2’ and ‘Rebecca’ over three formats.
‘Nina In Ecstasy 2’ was written for a forthcoming film A Bunnygirl’s Tale, which stars SARAH MILES and POLLY HARVEY. It is due to be screened next year.
Polly has already worked on a film this year, playing Jesus’ bodyguard, Magdelena, in the HAL HARTLEY film The Book Of Life, which has already been screened at international film festivals.
Polly kicks off her UK and Ireland tour Tomorrow, December 9 at Glasgow Barrowlands.
Support on all dates comes from THE DIRTY THREE.

Meanwhile, PJ Harvey guitarist JOHN PARISH has written the soundtrack to new Belgian film Rosie. Parish composed, performed and recorded the music, which will be released on CD only through Swarffinger Records on January 11.
The only vocal track on the album, ‘Pretty Baby’, is sung by ALISON GOLDFRAPP, who previously worked with TRICKY on his early recordings, and with ORBITAL.
The film, described as a “poignant story of the love between a young teenager and her mother and the unbreakable bond that links them together”, is scheduled for release in the UK sometime in the new year.
