PJ Harvey has announced her first live dates for over three years.
The series of appearances, at a selection of European music festivals, run through the last three weeks of August and include performances on the NME Stages at the Chelmsford and Leeds V98 festivals.
Harvey cancelled a string of gigs – some as far flung as Australia and New Zealand – in late 1995 due to ‘exhaustion’. The Euro festival dates precede the expected release of Harvey’s fifth album ‘Is This Desire’. No date for the long-awaited album has been confirmed.
The full list of dates are: Benicassim Festival, Castellon, Spain (August 7), Sudoeste Festival, Odemira, Portugal (9), Water Festival, Stockholm, Sweden (11), Rock Oz Arenes, Avenches, Switzerland (14), La Route Du Rocke Festival, St Malo, France (16), Summer Tent Festival, Wiesen, Austria (19), Bizarre Festival, Cologne, Germany, V98, Leeds, England (22), V98, Chelmsford, England (23), Flux Festival, Edinburgh, Scotland (25), Lowlands Festival, Droten, Holland (28), Pukkelpop Festival, Hasselt, Belgium (29), and Dell Unita Festival, Bologna, Italy (31).
