POLLY TELLING STORIES ABOUT THOM

The star reckons the collaboration, which appears on her new LP, has an "intense" atmosphere...

PJ Harvey, who performs on the US chat show THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO this evening (October 17), has told nme.com her collaboration with RADIOHEAD vocalist THOM YORKE has a “very intense atmosphere”.

Speaking about the making of new album ‘Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea’ in New York and Dorset, she said of ‘This Mess We?re In’, her collaboration with Yorke: “If you can get a point across without being specific, it’s much stronger. I was very pleased with ‘This Mess We’re In’ because it’s quite simple, but it has a very intense atmosphere and you can feel the saturation point the song’s describing without having to go into real detail. Things left unsaid are much more powerful than things said.”

The full interview can be read in this week’s NME, out today in London (October 17) and nationwide tomorrow (October 18).
