Plan B has revealed that he wants to take a year off from making music in order to live a normal life.
The ‘Ill Manors’ rapper, who was amongst the winners at the MOBO awards in Liverpool this weekend, says that putting himself back into a more normal environment will help him make music again.
Speaking to The Sun, the rapper, real name Ben Drew, said: “I want to take a year out from being photographed and going to shows. I’m living the dream I guess, a red carpet is rolled out everywhere I go. People treat me differently. But the only way I can keep on making music about real life is to live in normality, and the last three years I haven’t been. It’s been touring, awards shows and stuff that’s great fun — but I’m an artist and I need inspiring. It’ll be nice to get away from that celebrity circuit.”
However, Plan B’s gap year will have to wait until he has finished his UK arena tour in 2013. He will play play 11 shows across the UK beginning at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on February 1. He has also scheduled shows in London, Bournemouth, Manchester, Plymouth, Birmingham, Glasgow, Cardiff, Nottingham, Aberdeen and Brighton.
Plan B will play:
Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (February 1)
Manchester Arena (2)
Cardiff Motorpoint Arena (4)
Nottingham Capital FM Arena (5)
Bournemouth International Centre (7)
Birmingham LG Arena (8)
London O2 Arena (9)
