Clint Mansell is carving out an impressive new career for himself...

p>CLINT MANSELL is to write the soundtrack to the movie adaptation of PLAYSTATION game ‘RESIDENT EVIL’, starring MILLA JOVOVICH.

The former Pop Will Eat Itself frontman, who now lives in New Orleans and records on Trent Reznor’s Nothing record label, has recorded several highly-acclaimed film soundtracks, including ‘Pi’ and ‘Requiem For A Dream’.

He has recently finished recording the soundtrack to new film ‘The Hole’, which is directed by Nick Hamm, whose previous credits include ‘Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel And Laurence’, and stars American Beauty’ actress Thora Birch.

Recording the soundtrack in Nothing Studios in New Orleans and Sir George Martin’s Air studios in the UK, Mansell worked with 12 Rounds singer Claudia Sarne and Nine Inch Nails guitarist Danny Lohner. Oasis’ string arranger Nick Ingham arranged the orchestra.

A thriller about four public school students who stumble across a dark secret, ‘The Hole’ is set for release later this year. Mansell has posted extensive notes on the recording process at his website, [url=]www.clintatthecontrols.com.

‘Resident Evil’ is directed by Paul Anderson, who was behind ‘Event Horizon’, ‘Mortal Kombat’ and ‘Shopping’, and is scheduled for release in October.
