POPTONES are to open nightclubs in LA, NEW YORK, TORONTO, MILAN and STOCKHOLM, with the first in TOKYO, NME.COM can reveal.
Poptones’ regular Radio4 club night has become legendary at the Notting Hill Arts Club in London, and often attracts a stellar crowd.
Now, the club have announced they are expanding. The first new Radio4 club to open outside of London will be at the Tokyo Yellow Club on April 22. The night will feature DJ sets from Poptones founder Alan McGee and Primal Scream guitarist Andrew Innes. There will also be a live performance from the Poptones band The Montgolfier Brothers.
Speaking about Poptones’ expansion, a spokesperson for the club told NME.COM: “The success of Radio4 has nothing to do with the celebrity element the media focus on, it’s about people that love music coming and hearing Guns n’ Roses next to Grandmaster Flash, AC/DC and Mirwais.
“That’s why it’s been such a hit in London and why club owners worldwide want to open Radio4 in cities throughout the world.”
