Portishead backtrack over Danger Mouse diss

As they continue work on new album

Portishead founder Geoff Barrow has backtracked on the comments he made about Gnarls Barkley and Gorillaz member Danger Mouse.

Eariler this week, Barrow announced on his Myspace page that he’d rather “poo in my mum’s Sunday roast than have Danger Mouse produce a Portishead record”.

However, in a follow-up yesterday (August 9) Barrow retracted the comments.

He said: “Just to let you know after my rants the other day that were reported about a certain producer. I don’t rate myself better or above anyone else.

“It was purely a response to a message that suggested he should produce our album. And to be honest I’m a grumpy old fuck who hates everything, cheers.”

The band continue to work on their new album, the follow up to their 1997 self-titled second studio record.
